Sculpting Pendants with Polymer Clay

Sculpting Pendants with Polymer Clay

Bye Bye Hi guys I just have to say at the
beginning of this video I’m very sorry about the sound quality there was actually a sticker
over top of my microphone cause I recently just got a new phone and I didn’t realize
so I’m sorry Hopefully you guys can follow along cause Reese and I made some things out
of clay and it’s still really cool um thing to see so hopefully you can understand what
we’re saying Sorry about that Hi everybody Michelle here I’m here with another one of
my nieces Reese Hello And we’re here today because we’re going to do a special episode
about using clay and Reese uses clay a lot and she uses what is it called? Plasticine
So how about you show us your plasticine clay Wow So how does this work what do you do? It’s just like a modelling clay so you just make things and then it’s really cute So how about
you show them one of the cute things that you made recently. Here is a little fruit basket that
I made. Oh my goodness it’s so tiny Did you even put the sticker on the banana? Yup Aw I love it And
this is a tiny little cake that I made and here’s the icing Aww it’s so cute Reese I’m showing
Reese some clay that I brought with me and this is called polymer clay and it feels just
like plasticine I don’t have all the fancy colors but we’re going to show you how to
make things out of polymer clay today right Mhmm Okay so here we are we’ve got these beautiful
little examples that Reese made and this is polymer clay and I gave some to Reese too
and what we did here is we put a little metal loop inside so that after it’s dry in the
oven you need some help probably to bake it but after it’s dry in the oven then it will
be able to hang on a necklace or you could even make earrings out of this stuff it’s
really cool but when you first cut the clay it’s gonna be really hard like you can just
break it right now it’s not soft at all so you’ve gotta really make it soft for a while
and then when it’s soft you’ll need some wire or you can buy these that are already made
and I just try to make the loop We can hear Len in the background laughing He’s reading
a book a really funny book Reading a book all by himself just laughing. Okay so I have a tool
I have a tool here to bend this wire around because it’s way too hard to bend with my
fingers We just want to bend in all those sharp edges so they don’t poke out through
the clay when you’re um shaping your design around them Ok so then you basically Actually
this needs to be a lot softer That seems pretty soft. Yup. Yup soft. Mhmm I’m gonna press the loop
Oh I just stuck it in. into it Oh yeah any way just get it inside the clay and then you
can start making your little design I made a blob That’s beautiful Reese You make such
cute little blobs Thankyou Alright so you can start working on yours I’ll start working
on mine And I will fast forward this It looks like a bird Aww You know what I could probably
make I could probably make an ice cream pretty easy I’m not gonna make a bird I’m going to
make an ice cream cone You’re gonna make one too? Yup Okay Let’s make ice cream cones That
will make a cute little necklace wouldn’t it? Make it pointy we’ve decided to make ice
cream cones so we’re gonna try I’m just gonna rip off some I have too much. Me too. I wonder if there’s
something we could use to put like ice creamish texture on this you know like little bumpy
Oh maybe this yah that would work for the top Yah for like the ice cream just to make
it my nail is coming in handy in this one Heh Yeah we should put a little drip I’ll put a little
drip of ice cream It will be running down the cone like that? Mhmm first I’m gonna put a drip of ice cream
coming down like it’s melting I think I will do eyes. Yeah? Aww so cute! Tadaa! Here’s our ice creams I love it it’s
so cute And we’re here let’s hold them closer so they can see And we’re going to bake these
and when they’re baked this kind of clay not not this kind of clay not plasticine but when
you bake polymer clay it will get really hard plasticine will just melt Plasticine would
melt and I know because I did it I did it this year by mistake I thought I was using
polymer clay but I was actually using plasticine and when I baked it it turned out to be just
a puddle Okay so we will be back soon So now I have a tray for the oven and I’m putting
some parchment paper on it just like this take the little things we made We also made
some other things like a teddy bear Reese made a cute little bird and a doughnut and
what’s oh your snake Oh I can’t see it there it is and I made this little wiener dog too
So we put them all on the tray on the waxed or parchment paper and now we’re gonna put
this tinfoil tent over top so that they don’t get burnt but the little tiny ones I’m gonna
take out a little early cause they’re so small Reese also made this little tiny Tim Hortons
Christmas doughnut I think it’s so cute And now we wait for the little figurines to bake
Waiting waiting waiting and waiting I love him so cute and a chicken and a tree and a
baby with one leg and a lady bug and a cow and you should always do this supervised kids
or adults right? Take a look yes I think these are done the
little ones and we’ll put these back in for like I dunno five more minutes Okay so now
we have our little pendants this is my teddy bear and the ice cream cone we have them out
of the oven and we’re going to paint them with acrylic paint The little snake Reese
painted so well. That’s the one you made but I painted. Yup! Yup you painted it for me cause I was being a
slow poke our pendants and the wiener dog Reese’s snake and doughnut
Christmas doughnut a penguin and her ice cream pendant they’re so cute and these are done
all except for the glossy glaze that we’re gonna put on after and that was it for this
episode and Reese is drinking her tea That’s it for this episode on sculpting with clay
plasticine and polymer clay See you next time!
