Church Street Station Studios Coming in 2017

A cold, grey day at a construction site may
not excite you… But look past the dirt, fencing & bulldozers… These shovels and this groundbreaking signify
housing and hope. You see, a year from now, this construction
site will become Church Street Station. Residents of Church Street Station will include
people who’ve experienced homelessness and people in need of affordable housing. The 55000 square foot apartment complex will
be located in the Old Huntersville section of the city. Virginia Supportive Housing has partnered
with us to create the 6th Supportive Housing Development in Norfolk & Virginia Beach since
2005. “We are very supportive of creating not
only workforce housing, but more importantly permanent housing for those who are homeless. The amenities and attractions that this apartment
building will have is certainly state of the art”. All apartments are fully-furnished and offer
amenities such as a community room, computer room, laundry facilities, fitness room, security
and off-street parking. The building will also house offices for support
services staff. Church Street Station is scheduled to open
before the end of 2017. “in a year, there will be residents who
will actually be able to say, if they’re celebrating Christmas, ‘Merry Christmas’,
if they’re celebrating Chanukah, ‘Happy Chanukah’, and if they’re just in the
holiday spirit, they will be able to say ‘Happy Holidays’ because they will actually have
a place that they can call home”.
